Happy Retirement, Albert!
Celebrating 20 Years at A.J. Sellman
After two decades of dedicated service, we are saying a bittersweet farewell to a cornerstone of our team, Albert Smallman.
Albert has been a familiar, comforting presence at A.J. Sellman Family Funeral Directors for twenty years, and while we are sad to see him go, we couldn’t be happier for him as he starts this new chapter.
Albert’s commitment to the families we serve has been unwavering. He truly embodies the values of our independent, sixth-generation family business. We know many of you will miss his warmth and professionalism, but Albert is ready to trade his tie for a fishing rod! We wish him "tight lines" and plenty of peaceful days on the water.
A Deep-Rooted Legacy in Cannock Chase
At A.J. Sellman, we believe that being a funeral director is about more than just a service—it’s about being part of the community’s fabric. Established in 1870, our firm has grown alongside the Cannock Chase area for over 150 years. Our roots here are deep, and we take immense pride in our heritage as one of the oldest independent firms in the region.
Our connection to the community is personal because we live here too. We are proud to employ local people who understand the unique character and needs of our neighbours in Cannock, Penkridge, and Cheslyn Hay.
Award-Winning Care You Can Trust
Choosing an independent family business means choosing a team that answers to you. This commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed. A.J. Sellman is an award-winning firm, having been named the UK’s National Funeral Planner of the Year by Golden Charter.
Whether we are providing a traditional ceremony or a local direct cremation, our focus remains on dignity, respect, and the "special level of care" that has defined us for six generations.
Thank you, Albert, for twenty wonderful years. The office won't be the same without you, but we hope the fish are biting!
